Book Review: Mango Millionaire - Smart Money Management for a Sweeter Life

Unless you are a core finance guy dealing in financial instruments, do not ignore reading this book. It is not what you don't know that hurts but that which you think you know but don't. Typical me is a curious cat that constantly evaluates its environment. I have talked to many folks who have invested in Stocks and MFs in our generation and earlier to learn from their experience and play it out in my investment game. In social media era, we see a lot of folks blindly taking a punchline or two from various forums in different social media platforms as guidance to employ it in their investment journey. We all have done this and felty guilty of blindly following without reasoning right?

This book and such books that take Indian context is targeted at the million retail investors like you and me who are wanting to learn about the stock market and the various opportunities that can be tapped into based on our taste and appetite.

I picked this book literally for the respect and admiration I have for the author, Radhika Gupta as an individual based on her candid public advices in retail investments, sitting in the capacity of a head of leading financial investment company. This book didn't disappoint me and I would recommend to any and every desi retail investor to give it a read for their better future in their investments in Stock Markets. The language employed is easy read, the style is typical desi littered with everyday analogies to make things brain friendly. You can't be disappointed with this book and so go grab your copy now.

As someone who played with stock market for quite a few years post Covid, I know how much weight the punch of my favourite quote below from this book carries,

"Timing the market is a myth; trying to guess the perfect moment to buy low and sell high is a futile effort."

And then there are quite a few contrarian tips that you get to benefit from this book like, "Sound advice for a nominal fee is an investment, not an expense."

Happy learning for fruitful investing!!..
